Andiroba is a tree native to Central and South America. It can grow up to 30 meters tall and have a one meter trunk diameter. The name Andiroba is from the Nheengatu language and it means bitter oil. The tree’s seeds produce this bitter oil.
Andiroba wood is dark reddish brown in color. It has a straight grain with a fine texture. The wood is known for being durable and decay resistant. Because of the wood's great quality it makes for a beautiful ring with a natural feel.
