Fireland Cherry or Lenga (Nothofagus pumilio) is a tree that is native to the temperate forests in Chile, Argentina, and Patagonia. The tree grows to a height of 100 ft tall with a trunk up to 5 ft wide. It is known for its ability to regenerate quickly after a fire.
Fireland Cherry has a fine texture with a tight wood grain that is considered easy to work with. It finishes beautifully and has a great mellow light brown to cream color. These characteristics make it an excellent choice for a wood ring.
